Online therapy provides a way to access services when it is not easy to find a therapist near you or when you just can’t fit therapy into your busy schedule. Online visits allow you to see licensed providers from the comfort of your own home.
An initial visit with a psychiatrist is necessary to determine how to best address your needs. Refills are only on prescription and in consultation with your Psychiatrist/Clinical Psychologist in order to ensure that the review visits are honoured and that the regimen is relevant and effective.
Therapists provide guidance and support talk therapy. They do not prescribe medications. Psychiatrists are medical doctors who primarily prescribe medication for the treatment of behavioral health conditions.

MyAfya platform includes screenings to help you identify challenges you may be experiencing. We also have our agents who help you to navigate your need and match you with the relevant therapist and the type of professional to see.
Online therapy is not meant for emergencies or crisis situations. If you are experiencing an emergency, kindly to your nearest emergency room.
Once your request is received, our agent will match you with a relevant therapist within 15min. You can then proceed to make an appointment with the therapist based on the availability as per their appointment calendar.
At this time, we unfortunately only facilitate sessions through phone or video. We will consider the text therapy after reviewing pertinent factors.
We don’t have a limit on how many sessions you can have per month because sessions are based on the initial assessment by your therapist and the progress made through the engagement. Our clients typically can expect 2 – 4 sessions per month depending on their need.
Absolutely, once we match you with your therapist, the appointments will be managed according to the agreement between yourself and the therapist. We allow you to change a therapist if you feel your needs are being met.
Sessions can be anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour.
Many providers have availability for appointments not only during daytime hours, but evenings and weekends too. Once you choose a therapist, you can set an appointment with them directly at a time convenient for you.
